Born in Kings Bay Wharf to an underfunded and decrepit orphanage, but in his 10 years of being there no parents wanted to adopt the ragged Jin. Jin spent his time looking out into the ocean wanting to escape from the hellish confinements of the orphanage that drove him mad with boredom each day. Every so often he would sneak out of the orphanage to the docks where he would watch the countless boats sail in and out of the dock, but what caught his eye the most was the the pirates that sailed into the coast, they were free to sail anywhere and do anything, they got all the ladies and where constantly getting into fights, this was the life that Jin dreamed of, the kind of life that excited him, the complete opposite of what he had now.
Jin spent the next 2 years of his life nagging and pleading to the pirate Captain of the Misty Naga who went by the name of Jessy Blackwater, telling her that he’d clean all the dishes and make all the food and wash the deck and do all the nastiest jobs on the ship. Finally once Jin had just turned 12, Jessy Blackwater reluctantly agreed to let Jin onto the ship as a deckhand on the condition that he didn't get in the way, Jin ran back to the orphanage to let Traovar, Jins only friend at the orphanage, know that he was leaving with a pirates crew, before running of as Mrs Fillywhack shouted after him, screaming at him to come back. Jin boarded the Misty Naga and left from Kings Bay Wharf, quickly becoming friendly with most of the crew and learnt lots of stuff from each unique individual on the ship, he had never been surrounded by so many different races. Jin quickly became the ship's artillerist after the original one got blown up by an enemy's cannonball, although Jin was sad abou
One day while Jin was operating the cannons, the Misty Nagga was caught in a savage battle with a giant Warship, as they were trying to escape a cannon ball rocketed through the side of the ship, hitting Jin in his left side, it hit him with so much force his arm was completely mangled. Jin continued to arm the cannon through the immense until the ship had finally got out of range, after which Jin finally collapsed. Natsa, the ship's Surgeon, had to amputate the arm in order to stop it from getting infected, it took a while, but Jin eventually got used to it.
One day the Misty Naga and crew was hired for a routine job to deliver some shady goods to New Unity City the Misty Naga was attacked by something in the clouds, it was a sky ship, it sailed down from the clouds and continued to rain down fire upon the Misty Naga, before Jin could arm the cannons he was hit and knocked of the ship where he slowly lost conscious and drowned, all that he could spot as he sank was the symbol of a __. Jin then wakes up in a dark, dank cave with some underwater cave systems leading out behind him, and ahead of him a glowing purple star, with small floating black dots orbiting around it, Jin felt the urge to touch it, as he did he felt an immense pain in his head before falling unconscious.
Jin then woke up on a beach far from where he fell off the ship, he could not see anything but he could feel something strange in his hand. Jin had known firearms most of his life and so he could figure out that he was holding some kind of gun, when he looked down at it, he could see the gun, but nothing else, not the beach, not his hand holding, just the gun, only the gun. As he looked at it he saw writing on the barrel, a language he was sure he had never seen before, but yet he could understand it as if it were his first. The runes on the barrel shifted and shimmered in an alien way, almost forcing magical knowledge into his head, although knew little about magic, somehow he now knew that he could cast some basic spells, Find Familiar and Identify.
Using this new magical knowledge Jin summoned a familiar which took the shape of a small floating green spirit, through this little familiar Jin could suddenly see again as if through his own eyes but yet he knew these were not his eyes. Jin then traveled to the nearest town, a small beachside village of sea elves, he asked what continent he was and the date, he was told he was on a beach on the island of Elvhenan and when they told him the date Jin was struck with the realization that it had been almost a month since he had ‘drowned’ and yet he had no memories of how he got her or what happened in that month. As Jins mind raced thinking about what could of happened to his crew and praying that they were alright one calming voice overshadowed all the thoughts, a message that played over everything else in his head, the same soothing, ghostly whisper of the feminime voice he had heard in the cave saying, "You must help me." Jin’s mind then flashed an image of a continent he knew of, the continent of Fortuna. Being a Pirate for a long time he knew where Fortuna was, but he also knew that it was forbidden to all outsiders except one kind, heroes. And so Jin knew what he had to do next
